Overview
Exciting opportunity for a hands-on Clerk of Works to join a well-established property and construction consultancy. Inspect residential and refurbishment sites to ensure high-quality delivery, compliance with drawings, specifications, building regulations, and fire safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site inspections across residential & refurbishment projects
- Check contractors’ compliance with specifications, drawings & regulations
- Review fire safety measures: fire doors, sprinklers, masonry, drylining
- Complete snagging inspections & produce clear defect reports
- Maintain accurate digital records and provide guidance to project teams
- Liaise with consultants, design teams & stakeholders; attend project meetings
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years’ construction experience; technical or trade background preferred
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations (Approved Document B, BS 9999, BS 9991)
- Experience with high-risk buildings or façade remediation advantageous
- Professional memberships (ICWCI, MCIOB, RICS, IFE) beneficial but not essential
- Confident communicator, able to manage multiple sites independently
- Fire door inspection experience advantageous
