New opportunity for a Technical Development Manager job with a property developer based in Chichester, West Sussex. Our client is predominately focused on strategic land promotion and property development across the South East. Now expanding their team and looking for a well-rounded Technical Manager to oversee projects from identification, acquisition, and delivery. Offering a salary of up to 70k + bonus.
With a strong regional presence, the team is currently active on several sites per year, typically (Apply online only) units, with plans to scale up. The role would suit someone from a technical, planning or land background who understands the full development lifecycle, not just deal-making, and is looking to move into a client-side role. You will be joining a small but well-respected team at a key stage in their expansion.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead technical due diligence pre-acquisition, assessing risks around ground conditions, flooding, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure
- Manage project viability and programming, ensuring regular updates and coordination across teams
- Oversee budgets and financial controls to ensure cost-effective delivery
- Monitor project performance against key indicators, budgets, and timelines
- Plan and coordinate complex, interdependent project tasks to ensure smooth progression
- Manage or coordinate design teams through the planning process, including value engineering
- Support technical and planning requirements during land sales and oversee third-party infrastructure delivery
Required Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in a relevant subject area such as planning, real estate, or surveying
- Chartered status is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the full development life cycle
- Experience in land promotion or development management
- Strong technical knowledge of site appraisals and infrastructure
- Exposure to financial reporting and project programmes
- Full UK Driving Licence and car
