Assistant Clerk of Works opportunity based in the Surrey/ Home Counties for a growing consultancy, supporting residential and commercial new build and refurbishment projects. The role offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 + £5,000 car allowance + bonus scheme + remote working. Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with site inspections, reporting on workmanship, materials, and compliance with design specifications
- Support Senior Clerks of Works across multiple projects to help maintain quality standards
- Act as a point of contact for clients and residents, providing updates and responding to queries
- Maintain accurate site records including photographs and notes in line with the Quality Management System
- Liaise with contractors and key project stakeholders to help resolve issues and support timely delivery
- Promote and monitor health and safety compliance on site
- Assist with end-of-defects inspections and snagging processes
Required Skills & Experience
- Some previous experience within construction, housing, or a related environment
- Exposure to client-facing or resident liaison responsibilities
- Basic understanding of materials, trades, construction methods, and relevant regulations
- Knowledge of building regulations and quality standards is desirable
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and open to adopting new technology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Comfortable with remote working and occasional travel across the Surrey / Home Counties
