Assistant Clerk of Works opportunity based in the Surrey/ Home Counties for a growing consultancy, supporting residential and commercial new build and refurbishment projects. The role offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 + £5,000 car allowance + bonus scheme + remote working. Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist with site inspections, reporting on workmanship, materials, and compliance with design specifications
  • Support Senior Clerks of Works across multiple projects to help maintain quality standards
  • Act as a point of contact for clients and residents, providing updates and responding to queries
  • Maintain accurate site records including photographs and notes in line with the Quality Management System
  • Liaise with contractors and key project stakeholders to help resolve issues and support timely delivery
  • Promote and monitor health and safety compliance on site
  • Assist with end-of-defects inspections and snagging processes

Required Skills & Experience

  • Some previous experience within construction, housing, or a related environment
  • Exposure to client-facing or resident liaison responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of materials, trades, construction methods, and relevant regulations
  • Knowledge of building regulations and quality standards is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and open to adopting new technology
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable with remote working and occasional travel across the Surrey / Home Counties
