A Design Director job available with one of the UK’s leading workplace design and build firms. This award-winning firm had a portfolio of projects that is second-to-none. This opportunity would suit a highly creative and personable Design Director with a proven background in commercial design. Salary of up to 120,000 + Commission.

With decades of experience, my client is well-established and a leader within their sector. Currently operating with a team of around 200 designers, architects, visualisers, and creatives, working from their London office. This is a rewarding role with the chance to join a leading name and drive workplace projects from concept through to realisation. Outstanding client facing abilities, communication and presentation skills are essential to be considered for this role.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design leadership; Driving the creative vision across all project stages

  • Client liaison including BD and leading pitches and presentations

  • Contributing to design concepts and working with prospective clients to understand requirements

  • Team leadership; Inspiring, mentoring and managing different design teams across all project stages

  • Project and team management including overseeing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met

  • Reviewing designs and associated materials for projects.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in workplace design, architecture or design & build
  • Strong pitching and client-facing experience
  • Good negotiation skills and attention to detail

  • Proven track record of successfully delivering innovative and high-quality projects

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide teams across all project stages

  • Ability to travel within the UK

  • AutoCAD or Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Suite proficient

  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
