Associate Masterplanner job in Wakefield, West Yorkshire We\’re working with a leading multidisciplinary practice on an Associate Masterplanner Job focusing on design-led, narrative-driven work across major strategic masterplans, new towns, and regeneration schemes. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Urban Designer or Masterplanner looking for more leadership and client exposure in a collaborative, people-first environment. Role & Responsibilities – Coordinate teams and manage resources effectively – Take part in site visits, stakeholder engagement, and client presentations – Lead complex masterplanning projects from concept through to planning – Produce high-quality reports, design codes, visions, DAS, feasibility studies, and presentation material – Support wider studio marketing and business development activity – Guide junior staff and contribute to evolving design strategies. Required Skills & Experience – 5+ years of experience in urban design/masterplanning roles – A strong design background and the ability to explain strategy and narrative clearly – Comfortable working across scales – from strategic masterplans to fine grain interventions – Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite – Excellent verbal and visual communication skills – Passionate about sustainability, inclusive design, and creating great places – Degree-qualified in Urban Design, Planning, Architecture, or related discipline – UK driving licence and access to a car.
