We are looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to manage our direct procurement activities across multiple sites and business units. You will be responsible for acting as the business partner with the global category teams and sourcing of local spend ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable sourcing of goods with local suppliers while collaborating with key stakeholders in a matrixed, global environment. This role requires strong analytical capability, commercial acumen, and excellent supplier and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Business partner to the global category teams ensuring UK business requirements are well represented and translated into global sourcing projects.
- Develop and implement local sourcing strategies for direct procurement categories.
- Identify, evaluate, and select local suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and sustainability criteria.
- Conduct market research and benchmark pricing to identify and optimise procurement opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers for the UK to ensure high performance.
- Negotiate local contracts, pricing, and service agreements to drive cost savings and efficiencies.
- Partner with internal teams including operations, finance, and supply chain to ensure alignment with business needs.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials and services while meeting budget and quality targets.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance using KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate risks such as supply chain disruptions, contractual issues, or regulatory non-compliance.
- Ensure all procurement activities meet ethical, environmental, and legal standards.
- Work across multiple business units to align with global procurement strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support procurement initiatives and process improvements.
- Support category management activities by partnering with divisional and global procurement leaders.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working in a global organisation, ideally in a matrix environment.
- Proven experience in direct procurement (raw materials, components).
- Background in procurement transformation, cost optimisation, and sustainability initiatives.
- Knowledge of global trade regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
