Our client, a globally recognised Fintech leader known for its innovation and engineering excellence, is seeking a Software Engineer to join their London-based technology team.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of a critical engineering group – building tools and systems that empower teams responsible for keeping production environments fast, reliable, and observable at scale.
Responsibilities Design and develop robust, scalable Python-based tools and automation systems used across the firm’s infrastructure.
Build and enhance platforms that streamline monitoring, alerting, logging, and system diagnostics.
Solve complex distributed systems challenges and improve platform performance and observability.
Collaborate with engineering teams to provide internal tooling that ensures high availability and resilience of services.
Qualifications Expertise in Python, with a strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals.
Solid experience working on internal platforms or developer tools, ideally those supporting infrastructure or operations teams.
Strong knowledge of Linux systems and SQL.
Hands-on experience with modern observability and logging tools such as ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Grafana, Prometheus, and ideally Apache Spark.
A Computer Science degree from a top-tier university (or equivalent academic background).
