The role:

My client are looking to take on an experienced SQL Server DBA to join their team. The ideal candidate will stem from a Financial Services background, and have 5+ years experience. You will be required to be in the office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all Database Management and Administration activities
  • Manage and maintain a large scale SQL Server environment
  • Monitoring, Backups and Restoration of Databases
  • Optimising queries and stored procedures
  • Database health and capacity monitoring
  • Implementing automated alerting
  • Database security best practices
  • Working with Developers
  • Participating in projects
  • Occasionally providing out of hours support where required

Core skills required:

  • 5+ years as a SQL Server DBA, ideally within Financial Services
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and newer
  • T-SQL
  • Query optimisation
  • High Availability / Disaster Recovery (AlwaysOn, Clustering etc.)
  • Performance monitoring (Profiler, Extended Events etc.)
