The role: My client are seeking a Storage Platform Engineer to join their elite team. You will work on enterprise Storage services at a rapidly expanding company, including build, design, architectural and support duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, deployment and support of highly complex, distributed Storage platforms
  • Architectural work around high throughput Storage solutions such as NFS, GPFS and WEKA
  • Capacity planning and forecasting
  • Automating Storage and tuning for optimum performance
  • Working on and improving Observability practices for the varied Storage estate

Skills required:

  • Strong Storage experience combined with a thorough understanding of Linux
  • Experience with technologies such as NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph, or comparable
  • Configuration Management via Chef or Ansible
  • Experience working with a high level programming language (Python / Go / Rust)
  • Good understanding of CI/CD and the SDLC
  • Experience with Observability within Storage (ELK / Datadog / Prometheus / Grafana etc.)
  • Cloud based Storage experience (AWS / GCP)

Desirable:

  • Cloudian / MinIO / S3
  • General Storage hardware (arrays / JBOD’s / NVMe / SSD / HBA’s / Networked Storage)
  • Data protection and backup
  • HPC
