My client are seeking an SRE / Linux Platform Engineer to work on their low latency Linux estate. The role is a cross between Linux Systems Engineering and Site Reliability Engineering.

The Role

  • Platform Engineering: Building, designing and supporting automated solutions for scalable deployment across private and public cloud infrastructure.
  • Low Latency: Working within a low latency Linux environment.
  • Project & BAU: Operating across both project work and BAU, automating wherever possible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Linux Engineering: Managing and supporting Linux systems.
  • Configuration Management: Working with Chef, Puppet or Ansible.
  • Containers: Supporting Kubernetes, Docker or Podman environments.
  • CI/CD: Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Automation: Writing and maintaining Python scripts.

Requirements

  • Linux: Strong Linux experience.
  • Config Management: Experience with Chef, Puppet or Ansible.
  • Containers: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker or Podman.
  • CI/CD: Strong CI/CD knowledge.
  • Python: Python scripting experience.

Desirable

  • IaC: Experience with Terraform, Helm, Ansible, Pulumi or Bicep.
  • DR: Disaster Recovery knowledge.
  • Storage: Experience with Block or Blob Storage.
  • HPC: Experience with High Performance Computing.
