A leading international bank is now on the hunt for a Network Engineer to join it\’s growing London team. As an overall generalist, you will gain exposure to a variety of disciplines across networking to support and monitor the European regional infrastructure across several offices.
While the position is primarily operational, you will also be involved in assisting the design, implementation and project work of new rollouts and network upgrades. To cover all elements of the estate, you will be asked to provide support and project influence on Cisco routing and switching, network security, trader voice/telephony/recording, market data (Bloomberg etc), WiFi and VP/IPTV for office conference rooms.
Key exposure ideally needed:
- Prior experience of troubleshooting and configuration of networking equipment, ideally within banking or scaled environment
- Handle project change control and working with 3td party suppliers on hardware optimisation and new implementations
- Manage data centres and out of hours support
- Own systems documentation and billing of suppliers
Skills:
- Cisco routing (OSPF, EIGRP), and switching; DNS/DHCP
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Computer Science or similar STEM subject
- Cisco CCNA level, ideally 1+ years industry experience; 5 years max
Can be taught on the job:
- Cisco CUCM trader voice/telephony involving IPC, Recording, PBX
- Security – Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls
- Market Data technology – Bloomberg and other data vendors
- Wireless/WiFi – Cisco Meraki
- Video conference technology – AV, IPTV
- Cloud technology
- Linux and/or Windows environments
