The role:
My client are seeking a Storage Platform Engineer to join their elite team. You will work on enterprise Storage services at a rapidly expanding company, including build, design, architectural and support duties.
Responsibilities:
- Design, deployment and support of highly complex, distributed Storage platforms
- Architectural work around high throughput Storage solutions such as NFS, GPFS and WEKA
- Capacity planning and forecasting
- Automating Storage and tuning for optimum performance
- Working on and improving Observability practices for the varied Storage estate
Skills required:
- Strong Storage experience combined with a thorough understanding of Linux
- Experience with technologies such as NFS, GPFS, WEKA, Lustre, Ceph, or comparable
- Configuration Management via Chef or Ansible
- Experience working with a high level programming language (Python / Go / Rust)
- Good understanding of CI/CD and the SDLC
- Experience with Observability within Storage (ELK / Datadog / Prometheus / Grafana etc.)
- Cloud based Storage experience (AWS / GCP)
Desirable:
- Cloudian / MinIO / S3
- General Storage hardware (arrays / JBOD's / NVMe / SSD / HBA's / Networked Storage)
- Data protection and backup
- HPC
