Job Description
- Senior Python Developer - Trading & Risk Platforms
- Hybrid in Central London
- Inside IR35 - Up to £700 per day
\n We are seeking Senior Python Developers with proven experience building trading and risk systems within investment banking.
You will develop Back End services, data processing solutions and risk-focused applications supporting trade life cycle, risk calculations and reporting. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n
- Develop and enhance Python applications for trading and risk platforms \n
- Build data pipelines and automation for trade, risk and reconciliation workflows \n
- Process large financial datasets supporting Pn L, risk and regulatory reporting \n
- Contribute to architecture, scalability and system design decisions \n
- Partner with quants, traders and risk teams to deliver technical solutions \n
- Develop and integrate REST APIs and Back End services \n
- Maintain high code quality through testing, reviews and best practices \n
- Mentor junior developers where required \n \n Required Skills \n \n
- Strong Core Python development experience \n
- Experience with enterprise trading and risk platforms (eg Quartz, Sec DB, Athena, Kanon, Beacon or similar) \n
- Strong SQL and large-scale data handling expertise \n
- Pandas and Num Py for data processing and analytics \n
- REST API development using Flask, Fast API or Django \n
- Strong understanding of performance optimisation and scalable systems \n
- Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting experience \n \n Domain Experience \n \n
- Investment Banking or Capital Markets background \n
- Experience across Market Risk, CCR, Pn L, Trade Lifecycle and Reconciliations \n
- Knowledge of derivatives, swaps, futures, options and fixed-income products \n \n Desirable \n \n
- Py Spark or distributed data processing \n
- Exposure to quantitative models and pricing systems \n
- Global banking environment experience \n
- 9-15 years' relevant experience \n \n Please note: Candidates without trading, risk or capital markets experience will not be considered.
