I'm working with a client in the trading sector who requires a Senior Automation & Performance Engineer to join an ongoing programme. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for shaping automation strategy, driving performance testing, and ensuring resilience across critical services.

What you'll be doing:

  • Building and maintaining automated test packs for services built in Java or C#.
  • Developing performance and load test frameworks to measure scalability and reliability.
  • Testing integration and messaging layers (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar).
  • Embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines and containerised environments.
  • Running tests in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with supporting monitoring/observability tools.
  • Advising on tooling, best practice, and QA standards across teams.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong background in backend automation, with REST API expertise.
  • Track record in performance testing (throughput, load, capacity).
  • Previously worked in a Trading or Commodities environment.
  • Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of test management and reporting tools.

Rate: Up to £650/day

Duration: 6 months + (multiple extensions)

Location: London (good work from home options available)
