A leading financial services organisation is seeking a Market Surveillance Analyst to join its growing compliance and regulatory oversight team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced surveillance professional to play a key role in monitoring trading activity, supporting regulatory obligations, and helping maintain the integrity of financial markets within a fast-paced trading environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring trading alerts and market activity across multiple platforms
- Identifying potential market abuse risks
- Supporting the submission of STORs and regulatory investigations where required
- Assisting with surveillance system enhancements and testing
- Preparing regulatory and committee reporting
- Maintaining market reference data and trading calendars
- Supporting FCA audit and remediation processes
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external technology users, you will provide guidance on surveillance-related queries, contribute to operational and regulatory communications, and support ongoing monitoring programmes and business continuity procedures. This position offers excellent exposure to regulatory engagement, market oversight, and surveillance operations within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Requirements:
- Previous Market Surveillance experience gained within a bank, broker, exchange, or trading venue
- Strong understanding of FCA regulations, exchange rules, and market abuse frameworks including MAR
- Experience identifying and analysing market abuse risks and supporting STOR investigations
- Familiarity with surveillance and market data platforms such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv
- Good knowledge of equities, equity-related products, and wider asset classes
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders
- Experience supporting regulatory reporting, investigations, and compliance monitoring activities
- Proactive and collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
