My client is seeking a hands-on Production Infrastructure Support Lead to oversee a globally distributed function responsible for mission-critical trading infrastructure and platform services. This is an opportunity to lead a high-performing engineering support team (they're hiring both for a global and regional lead). You’ll play a key role in driving reliability, automation, operational excellence, and scalability across a complex global infrastructure estate supporting front-office trading systems.
Role
- Lead and coordinate a global infrastructure engineering function
- Heavy involvement in process improvement, automation, and tooling
- Partner with engineering and platform teams to improve observability, self-service, and incident response capabilities
- Remain hands-on with troubleshooting, outage management, and critical production incidents
- Mentor and develop engineers across multiple regions within a collaborative engineering culture
Skills / Experience
- Strong Linux/Unix systems administration experience within enterprise or trading environments
- Previous experience leading infrastructure, platform, or production support teams
- Excellent understanding of CI/CD, automation, orchestration, and modern infrastructure tooling
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Strong networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, multicast, NTP/PTP, and packet-level troubleshooting
- Experience supporting highly available, business-critical environments under pressure
- Strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of storage technologies such as NFS or distributed file systems is beneficial
- ITIL or service management exposure is advantageous
