We’re partnering with a leading global Proprietary trading firm hiring for a Desktop Engineer to join a highly visible end-user and trading technology team supporting front-office users and critical trading systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with traders, solving complex technical issues, and owning the end-user experience within a fast-paced trading environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical support to front-office users and traders
- Deploy, support, and troubleshoot trading applications
- Manage hardware deployments, user provisioning, and workstation builds
- Support Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS environments
- Improve and automate end-user infrastructure and operational processes
- Support conference room and collaboration technologies
- Partner with engineering teams globally to enhance the user experience
- Evaluate and implement new technologies across the business
Qualifications
- Strong experience supporting Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS environments
- Experience supporting trading applications and front-office users
- Previous experience working on a trading floor or within a financial markets environment
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Windows Server and Active Directory administration
- SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Management experience
- Experience within proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, or investment banks
