We’re partnering with a leading global Proprietary trading firm hiring for a Desktop Engineer to join a highly visible end-user and trading technology team supporting front-office users and critical trading systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with traders, solving complex technical issues, and owning the end-user experience within a fast-paced trading environment.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical support to front-office users and traders
  • Deploy, support, and troubleshoot trading applications
  • Manage hardware deployments, user provisioning, and workstation builds
  • Support Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS environments
  • Improve and automate end-user infrastructure and operational processes
  • Support conference room and collaboration technologies
  • Partner with engineering teams globally to enhance the user experience
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies across the business

Qualifications

  • Strong experience supporting Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS environments
  • Experience supporting trading applications and front-office users
  • Previous experience working on a trading floor or within a financial markets environment
  • Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

  • PowerShell scripting experience
  • Windows Server and Active Directory administration
  • SCCM / Microsoft Endpoint Management experience
  • Experience within proprietary trading firms, hedge funds, or investment banks
