My client are looking for a Database Specialist, and are flexible on seniority, hence the salary range. You will work on their highly complex integrated database stack, which facilitates many different parts of the business.

The Role

  • Database Management: Supporting and managing PostgreSQL and related databases across the organisation.
  • Integration: Working across a complex, integrated database environment supporting multiple business functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • PostgreSQL: Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience.
  • Additional Databases: Exposure to Clickhouse or FoundationDB highly desirable.
  • Linux: Supporting databases within Linux environments.
  • Automation: Using Python for scripting and automation.

Requirements

  • PostgreSQL: Strong DBA experience.
  • Linux: Solid Linux skills.
  • Python: Scripting and automation experience.

Desirable

  • Advanced Linux: Advanced Linux administration skills.
  • Automation / IaC: Experience with Chef, Terraform or Ansible.
  • Additional DBs: MS SQL, Redis, MongoDB experience.
  • Observability: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana or similar tools.
  • CI/CD: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cloud: AWS or GCP experience.
  • Virtualisation: VMware experience.
