My client are looking for a Database Specialist, and are flexible on seniority, hence the salary range. You will work on their highly complex integrated Database stack, which facilitates many different parts of the business. This is a critical role within an elite trading environment where data integrity and performance are paramount.
As a Database Specialist, you will be responsible for the health, performance, and evolution of a sophisticated data estate. You will work across a variety of modern database technologies, moving beyond traditional administration into a role that requires deep technical insight and automation-driven management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the performance and reliability of a highly complex integrated Database stack.
- Supporting and optimizing PostgreSQL environments to facilitate diverse business functions.
- Working with distributed and high-performance databases such as Clickhouse and FoundationDB.
- Automating database tasks and workflows using Python and Linux-based tools.
- Collaborating with engineering teams to ensure the database layer supports low-latency trading requirements.
Requirements
- Strong PostgreSQL DBA experience.
- Linux proficiency.
- Python scripting skills for database automation and tooling.
- Any exposure to Clickhouse or FoundationDB is highly desirable.
- Desirable Skills: Advanced Linux skills; Configuration Management/IaC (Chef, Terraform, Ansible); Experience with MS SQL, Redis, or MongoDB; Observability (Prometheus, Grafana); CI/CD; Cloud (AWS/GCP); VMware.
