We're partnering with a leading trading firm based in London to find a talented Python Data Engineer to join their growing technology function. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on greenfield data platform projects, building the pipelines and infrastructure that power buy-side trading and investment decisions at scale. Our client operates at the cutting edge of the trading world, combining deep market expertise with a modern, cloud-first engineering culture. You'll be working alongside some of the sharpest developers and quants in the industry, in an environment that genuinely invests in its technology stack and its people. This is a 6-month rolling contract with a very high likelihood of extension — a great opportunity to embed yourself in a high-performing team on a long-term basis.
Skills/experience
- Strong hands-on/commercial coding experience in Python
- Solid experience with Snowflake (data modelling, performance tuning, pipeline integration)
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
- Strong experience with SQL
- Strong experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
- Experience within finance — trading, investment banking, asset management or similar
- Strong communication skills, comfortable working closely with traders, quants and other stakeholders
- A genuine passion for data and technology!
