Our client, a leader in the FinTech space, is searching for a KDB Developer to add to their Client Engineering team! You will be working alongside Software teams to develop, test and maintain all code for client applications.
Responsibilities will include:
- Gather and translate business requirements into technical solutions for market data and analytics applications
- Design, develop, test and maintain kdb+ applications and supporting services
- Support full project delivery lifecycle, including debugging, optimisation and production support
- Perform data analysis and build reporting/analytics outputs for stakeholders
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code quality, standards and team delivery
Technical Skills needed:
- Hands-on experience with kdb+ and strong proficiency in q for time-series data processing
- Experience building real-time and historical data pipelines (tick data capture, ingestion, querying, and distribution systems)
- Proficiency in additional languages such as Python or Java, including API integration (REST, messaging frameworks)
- Familiarity with Linux-based environments, scripting, and networking concepts (process management, sockets, IPC)
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerisation tools (Docker/Podman), plus CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of market data platforms and financial systems (e.g., Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon) and understanding of time-series databases and distributed systems
