Overview
A global hedge fund is seeking a skilled C++ Software Engineer to join a core technology team responsible for building and maintaining high-performance trading systems. This role sits close to the investment process, where robust and efficient engineering is critical to supporting systematic and discretionary trading strategies. You will work in a collaborative, engineering‑led environment alongside traders, quants, and technologists, contributing to systems where performance, reliability, and scalability matter.
The Role
As a C++ Software Engineer, you will be involved in the design, development, and optimisation of trading systems used across the fund.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing performant C++ trading systems and supporting infrastructure
- Improving system performance, reliability, and scalability across core platforms
- Working closely with traders and quantitative teams to deliver technology aligned with investment needs
- Contributing to system architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices
- Supporting the full software development lifecycle, from design through to production

Requirements
- Strong commercial experience as a C++ Software Engineer
- A top‑tier degree from a highly reputed university in a STEM discipline
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles
- Experience building performance‑sensitive systems
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix environments
- Familiarity with multi‑threading and concurrency is beneficial
- Experience working with finance is beneficial but not essential
- Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
