Role Overview:
My client are looking for a talented and proactive Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their team. This role will primarily focus on maintaining and enhancing the organization’s existing Azure Cloud infrastructure while completing the migration to an Azure Cloud environment. You will tackle a wide variety of challenges, ranging from troubleshooting complex cloud infrastructure issues to network and firewall provisioning. This is a dynamic, hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced and diverse environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, monitor, and optimize a highly available and complex Azure Cloud infrastructure
- Perform regular system monitoring and proactively identify and resolve issues
- Manage server and software failures, ensuring quick recovery
- Provide support to end users, including VIP support
- Oversee the deployment and management of software updates and patches
- Enhance operational efficiency through the automation of processes and workflows
- Perform occasional out-of-hours and weekend work as required
- Serve as back-up support for network and firewall troubleshooting
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive projects and initiatives forward
- Communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Foster a continuous learning environment and maintain a keen attention to detail
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong technical understanding of cloud computing, specifically in Azure
- Experience with Azure AD/Entra ID, networking principles, and deployment tools (e.g., Terraform, PS/CLI, ARM templates)
- Hands-on knowledge of Office 365, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure cloud services
- Expertise in scripting with PowerShell and Terraform for automation
- Familiarity with Hyper-V, SQL Server, Failover Clustering, and High Availability/Disaster Recovery
- Experience managing Cloud DR solutions and networking components (switch administration, PaloAlto firewall)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git version control
