About the Client
Our Client is seeking a skilled Fire Door Engineer with strong carpentry skills and a thorough understanding of fire door compliance. The successful candidate will work independently and alongside colleagues to complete work safely and accurately.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess existing fire doors, identifying repairs, refurbishment or replacement requirements.
- Install fire doors in accordance with applicable fire safety requirements and manufacturer guidelines.
- Complete maintenance and refurbishment work, maintaining consistently high standards of workmanship.
- Install, adjust and maintain door hardware, including locks, hinges, closers and panic devices.
- Check fire ratings, smoke seals and door clearances to ensure installations meet the required specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections and repairs, and liaise daily with management.
- Follow safe working practices, use appropriate PPE and keep work areas, tools and equipment well maintained.
- Travel between sites and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Experience in fire door inspection, installation and maintenance is essential.
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry is required.
- A valid UK driving licence is essential.
- Strong understanding of fire safety requirements and carpentry techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Good health and safety awareness and a practical approach to safe working.
