About the Client:
Our Client handles projects ranging from smaller roofing works to multi-million-pound schemes, offering exposure to varied technical requirements and levels of complexity. Working within a supportive estimating team, the successful candidate will prepare tenders, share technical knowledge and contribute to the business’s growing workload.
The level of responsibility will reflect the successful candidate’s experience, with opportunities for candidates who have the technical foundation and potential to develop.
Roles/Responsibilities:
- Review construction drawings, specifications, tender enquiries and scopes of work.
- Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for industrial roof sheeting and cladding packages.
- Calculate material, labour, access equipment, plant and associated project costs.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, checking scope, pricing and exclusions.
- Identify tender risks, assumptions and missing information, raising clarification queries where required.
- Assess roofing refurbishment and replacement requirements to develop practical pricing solutions.
- Liaise with colleagues, suppliers and subcontractors to obtain technical information and resolve pricing queries.
- Ensure estimates reflect project specifications, installation requirements and commercial considerations.
- Contribute to tenders ranging from smaller works to substantial industrial roofing and cladding schemes.
- Maintain clear estimating records to support tender reviews and pricing decisions.
Qualifications:
- Estimating experience within industrial roofing, roof sheeting, cladding or a relevant construction discipline.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
- Understanding of roofing and cladding materials, labour requirements, access considerations and associated costs.
- Practical knowledge of how industrial roofing and refurbishment works are delivered.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercial awareness and close attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A reliable, proactive approach and willingness to develop technical knowledge.
Candidates at different experience levels will be considered, including those with a strong technical foundation and the potential to develop into the role.
Benefits:
- Salary of £31,000–£67,000, depending on experience and level of responsibility.
- Potential discretionary bonus, subject to individual circumstances and company performance.
