About you
Are you a proactive person who enjoys a challenge? Someone who is organised and passionate about supporting the team. If so, then we have an exciting role waiting for you. We are looking for a Yard Assistant to join our busy Service Department at our Chilbolton branch. You will be confident in driving and operating all types of agricultural and turf machinery. You will have strong communication skills whilst liaising with a number of people across the branch and wider company. You will be a self-starter and able to follow instruction but also work from your own initiative when the need arises. If we have just described you, then we definitely want to hear from you. Job function and duties
- Supports the Service and Sales departments with their daily operations
- Oversee the daily organisation of the yard area including ensuring it is kept orderly and tidy
- Unloading machinery and parts deliveries as well as customer machines
- Collect and deliver machinery for both Sales and Service departments
- Complete basic maintenance tasks on the premises
- General workshop tidying
- Steam cleaning and valeting machinery
- Delivering machines and equipment to customers
- Assisting with the set up and break down at trade shows and events
- Adhering to health and safety practices at all times
- Any other tasks when required
Skills and attributes
- Confidence in driving and operating all types of machinery
- Experience working on a farm desirable
- Proactive
- Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
- Good attention to detail
