About you

We are looking for a proactive and capable Management Accountant to join our Finance Department at either our Chilbolton or Blashford depots. Reporting to the Finance Director, the role will be heavily integrated across multiple departments within the business whilst producing relevant financial information to management. The key aim is to support the business to achieve its financial objectives. The successful candidate will have accounting experience and be either ACA/CIMA/ACCA (part/newly qualified also considered) or AAT (minimum of level 3) qualified. The ability to offer solutions and interpret information is just as important as producing the reports. Working quickly but accurately whilst building relationships and communicating with people from all levels across the business will be vital in ensuring success in this role.

Responsibilities and tasks

  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts and other key management account information
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet
  • Producing & reviewing month end close reports including aged debt and aged creditor reports
  • Supporting Finance Director with year-end audit
  • Review of bank uploads / payments
  • Provide regular key business metrics including KPI's and performance analysis to management to support decision making
  • Support the Finance Director with various ad hoc duties and be the link between senior management and the accounts team.

Skills and attributes

  • Either ACA/CIMA/ACCA qualified or minimum of AAT Level 3 with a view to complete level 4.
  • Experienced usage of Microsoft Office, particularly advanced functionality in Excel including filters, VLOOKUP's, SUMIFS and Pivot Tables
  • High level of attention to detail and due diligence
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and team work ethic
  • Ability to propose solutions rather than simply report issues
  • Willingness to proactively take on new tasks with a strong desire to develop and grow professionally in the role
