Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm (40 hours per week) + flexibility to support the needs of the business

Location: Flexible - Can be based at any one of our 7x depots across Dorset, Wiltshire, Somerset and Hampshire (regular travel across the group will be expected)

About the Role

Due to the continued growth of our business we are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Aftermarket Manager to lead our Service and Parts departments across the Group. This is the most senior position within our Aftermarket operation. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the strategic direction, operational performance and financial success of our Aftermarket department. Leading our Group Service Manager and Group Parts Manager, you will develop and implement a long term aftermarket strategy that aligns with both our business objectives and John Deere's dealer standards and vision. This is a high profile leadership role requiring a commercially astute individual who can inspire teams, influence senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Group Aftermarket strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives and John Deere’s strategic direction whilst translating into clear operational plans and measurable business outcomes.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the Group Service Manager, Group Parts Manager and wider management teams, creating a high performing, customer focused culture.
  • Take full accountability for the performance, profitability and growth of the Parts and Service functions across all depots.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with John Deere and other franchise partners, ensuring compliance with manufacturer standards and maximising partnership opportunities.
  • Take ownership of departmental budgets, financial performance and cost control with a sound understanding of profit and loss, margins and key financial drivers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Board and senior leadership team to shape business strategy and support wider organisational objectives.
  • Identify and develop new aftermarket sales opportunities, whilst driving exceptional customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Monitor and improve departmental performance through effective KPI development, analysis and reporting.
  • Champion continuous improvement, operational excellence and innovation across all aftermarket functions.
  • Develop succession plans and leadership capability within the Parts and Service management teams.
  • Any other tasks as reasonably required.

Skills and Attributes

We are looking for a senior leader who combines strategic thinking with operational excellence and commercial awareness. You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a senior management role, ideally leading multisite operations.
  • Significant leadership experience within an aftermarket, service, agricultural, automotive, commercial vehicle or similar environment.
  • The ability to develop and execute business strategy whilst maintaining operational excellence.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, profitability and business performance.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present to Board level, influence stakeholders and lead senior management teams.
  • Proven experience developing KPI’s and using data to drive business decisions.
  • A ‘customer first’ mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to motivate, coach and develop high performing teams.
  • Knowledge of the agricultural industry would be advantageous although candidates from comparable industries with strong aftermarket experience are encouraged to apply.
