We are a successful and expanding Agricultural and Turf machinery dealer in the south of England. Some of our key brands include John Deere, Kramer, Vaderstad, Amazone and Kuhn. We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive and experienced sales professional to join our business within our busy sales department. The successful candidate will be based at our Dorchester depot but travel throughout Dorset and up to the Devon and Somerset borders.
About the role
This is a busy and varied role proactively selling new and used agricultural equipment to our customers. No two days will be the same. Building strong customer relationships within an area of influence is key to success, not just with existing customers but also whilst introducing new customers to the business too.
Essential Duties
- Represents the Dealership in the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area.
- Executes all sales process steps to achieve high sales performance in conjunction with the sales tools available from John Deere.
- Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment and services potentially saleable by the dealership and attends relevant sales training events.
- Using CRM, maintains customer data and equipment fleet information both John Deere and competitive.
- Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
- Monitors competitor activity and products and communicates to the sales Management accordingly.
- Conducts new equipment field demonstrations.
- Executes goods delivery and follow up, according to CSR.
- Builds strong and loyal relationships with defined sales area customers.
- Monitors trends in customers’ business activities and timely communicates to management.
- Uses support from Sales Specialist when required.
Skills & Qualifications
- Machinery sales experience - desirable
- Previous sales experience - essential
- Good knowledge of agricultural/turf equipment and farming operational practices - desirable
- Ability to use standard computer applications, internet functions & sales tools
- Familiar with John Deere (full training will be provided) and competitive products
- Ability to analyse and interpret internal reports
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Ability to work extended hours
- Excellent attitude with integrity and honesty
