Role Overview: The yard/logistics manager will oversee all operations within the scaffolding yard, ensuring the safe, efficient, and organised handling, storage, maintenance, and dispatch of scaffolding equipment. They will oversee vehicle maintenance, ensuring the necessary checks are carried out and services are up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing scaffolding equipment
    • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or damages
    • Implement inventory control systems and conduct regular audits
  • Team Supervision
    • Lead and coordinate yard staff, ensuring clear task allocation and productivity
    • Provide training on safety procedures and equipment handling
    • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Logistics & Dispatch
    • Schedule deliveries and collections to and from job sites
    • Liaise with project managers to align yard operations with site needs
    • Ensure all materials are properly loaded and transported securely
  • Maintenance & Safety
    • Oversee cleaning, repair, and inspection of scaffolding components
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
    • Conduct risk assessments and enforce PPE and safety protocols
  • Facility Management
    • Ensure the yard is tidy, accessible, and compliant with environmental standards
    • Manage tools, forklifts, and other yard-related equipment

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a construction related yard or warehouse role.
  • Strong knowledge of scaffolding systems and components desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Full driving licence
  • Forklift license desirable but not essential
  • HGV awareness or experience coordinating deliveries
