Our client is a growing joinery contractor delivering bespoke interior packages across commercial environments. With a strong pipeline of secured work and a hands-on leadership team, they offer a supportive setting for someone looking to build a long-term career within commercial management. They are now seeking a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join the business and work closely with the Commercial Manager across multiple live projects.
The Role
As Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you will assist with the commercial management of projects from contract award through to practical completion. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the commercial management of projects from contract award to practical completion
- Liaising with the Purchasing Department regarding material procurement
- Assisting with the management of variation accounts through to final account agreement
- Managing subcontractor accounts and payments
- Attending site visits to monitor progress
- Producing monthly cost reports, identifying potential variances and risks
- Assisting with monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
- Building relationships with clients, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers
About You
- Ideally degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying
- 2–3 years’ experience within a construction or interiors environment
- Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail
- IT proficient, particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Good communication skills and confident dealing with different stakeholders
- Commutable distance to head office
- Keen to develop within a specialist joinery contractor
