Ground Investigation Project Manager Location: Heathrow Reports to: Operations Manager About the Role A leading geotechnical and ground investigation specialist is seeking an experienced Ground Investigation Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a range of ground investigation projects across infrastructure, energy, and environmental sectors. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geology, engineering geology, or civil engineering, with 5-8+ years of relevant industry experience in the UK. Based at the Heathrow office, this role involves managing projects from award to completion, liaising with clients, and overseeing financial performance. Key Responsibilities Plan and manage ground investigation projects from start to finish, ensuring smooth execution and compliance. Oversee site investigations across various locations, including major infrastructure, rail, highways, and energy projects. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contributing to business growth. Lead and mentor a team of Site Engineers and Technicians, ensuring project goals are met. Take full financial responsibility for projects, including budget control, forecasting, and reporting. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as British Standards and industry best practices. Assist in preparing technical proposals and tender documentation. What We\’re Looking For Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, or Civil Engineering. 5-8+ years of experience in ground investigation or geotechnical engineering. Minimum 1 year of project management experience. Strong knowledge of ground investigation techniques, specifications, and laboratory testing. Familiarity with ICE and NEC contracts and their administration. Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the UK. Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and teams. Desirable Skills & Experience Experience in financial forecasting and cost management. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., Geological Society, ICE, or similar). Actively working towards Chartered status. Proficiency in borehole log software and data management tools.
