Project Planner – Water / Utilities Infrastructure Location: Pewsey, Wiltshire Employment: Permanent or Contract Salary: Circa £50,000–£65,000, depending on experience Start: ASAP A specialist utilities and water infrastructure contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Project Planner to support the delivery of projects across the UK water sector. The business delivers clean and potable water infrastructure, including reservoirs, tanks, pumping systems, pipework, temporary water systems and associated civils. With a growing AMP8 workload, they require a planner who can take ownership of project programmes from early planning through construction and commissioning. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 Produce baseline and updated programmes in line with project requirements Monitor progress against programme and identify critical path, float and potential delays Produce short-term and long-term lookahead programmes Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and site teams Develop appropriate construction sequencing for civils and utilities works Monitor programme performance and provide accurate forecasting Identify programme risks and support mitigation and recovery planning Assess the programme impact of design changes, delays and variations Support NEC3 / NEC4 contract administration from a planning perspective Assist with Clause 31/32 programmes, Early Warnings and Compensation Events Liaise with clients and supply-chain partners regarding programme progress Support tender and pre-construction planning where required Produce regular planning reports and progress updates for senior management Requirements Previous experience as a Project Planner, Planning Engineer or Senior Planner Strong Primavera P6 capability Previous experience within water, utilities, civils or infrastructure Clean / potable water experience is particularly desirable Good understanding of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts Able to understand construction methodology and translate it into realistic programmes Experience with programme updates, critical-path analysis, forecasting and change Strong communication skills and comfortable working directly with project delivery teams Ideally several years' experience planning construction or infrastructure projects
