Our client is seeking a Senior Design Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. This is a key leadership role, overseeing design delivery across multiple interior projects, with a focus on technical excellence and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and review all design information, ensuring full understanding of project requirements, scope, and responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate design across multiple projects, working closely with architects, main contractors, consultants, and Building Control
- Oversee RFIs, design deliverables, and programme tracking to ensure timely and accurate outputs
- Coordinate with other trades including MEP, joinery, and façades to ensure fully integrated design solutions
- Work closely with manufacturers to ensure compliance, develop specifications, and provide technical support
- Produce and review technical submittals, detailed drawings, and BIM packages where required
- Ensure all designs comply with current building regulations and relevant standards
- Identify design risks, opportunities, and manage variations in collaboration with commercial teams
- Support pre-construction activities, including tenders and technical input
Leadership & Development:
- Lead and mentor design team members, supporting their technical development
- Develop and improve internal design processes, standards, and documentation
- Chair and contribute to design meetings, providing technical guidance and project updates
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a Senior Design Manager or Design Manager role within interiors
- Strong technical knowledge of drylining, partitions, ceilings, and related systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively
- Strong understanding of construction processes, design coordination, and compliance
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience working with BIM processes is beneficial
