Head of Commercial – Scaffolding & Access Location: London Salary: Up to £90,000, depending on experience Job type: Permanent Working arrangements: Full-time, office-based An established specialist scaffolding and access contractor is seeking an experienced Head of Commercial to take ownership of the commercial function and support the continued growth and performance of the business. The company delivers scaffolding and access solutions across a range of construction and infrastructure projects. This is a senior position offering responsibility for commercial strategy, financial performance, contracts and the development of the wider commercial team. The role You will take responsibility for the commercial requirements of the business, working closely with the Directors, operational teams, clients and supply chain. Your responsibilities will include:     • Leading the commercial function across multiple scaffolding and access projects.     • Providing commercial input during tender negotiations.     • Managing contracts and associated commercial administration.     • Overseeing supply chain management and administration.     • Managing cost capture, cost control and commercial reporting.     • Producing and reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual trading analysis.     • Taking responsibility for cash management and overall commercial performance.     • Liaising and negotiating with client commercial, operational and project teams.     • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.     • Implementing effective commercial procedures and reporting processes.     • Ensuring appropriate commercial and contractual records are maintained.     • Managing, supporting and developing members of the commercial team.     • Providing commercial and contractual advice to the Directors.     • Preparing and managing contractual correspondence and supporting dispute resolution where required. About you You will have a strong background in commercial management within the construction sector, ideally gained within scaffolding, access or another specialist subcontracting environment. We are interested in experienced Heads of Commercial and senior Commercial Managers looking to take wider responsibility for a commercial function. You should demonstrate:     • A proven track record in commercial management within construction.     • Experience working within a specialist subcontractor environment.     • Scaffolding or access industry experience would be highly advantageous.     • Strong financial and commercial awareness.     • Good contract management and administration experience.     • A strong understanding of construction contracts and contractual obligations.     • Experience preparing contractual correspondence.     • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.     • Experience with commercial reporting, cost control and cash management.     • The ability to lead, support and develop commercial personnel.     • Confidence working directly with Directors and senior operational teams.     • Membership of RICS or another relevant professional body, or suitable industry qualifications, would be advantageous.
