Our client is an established façade specialist delivering a wide range of cladding and external envelope projects across the UK. With a growing workload and strong pipeline of projects, they are now looking to add a Junior Cladding Designer to their Liverpool-based team. This is a hybrid role combining office, remote and site-based working, offering exposure to live projects, technical coordination and ongoing professional development within a supportive design environment.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Produce detailed cladding construction drawings including elevations, plans and setting out details
- Prepare fire barrier drawings, site investigation drawings and fabrication details
- Produce sub-grid and panel layout drawings from surveys, site photos and architectural information
- Carry out material take-offs and support the commercial team with project coordination
- Attend site surveys, inspections and design meetings with clients, consultants and contractors
- Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications, U-values and condensation calculations
- Maintain drawing registers, RFIs and project documentation throughout delivery stages
- Coordinate with internal teams, structural engineers and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Qualifications
- Degree qualified in Construction, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Previous UK cladding design experience is essential
- Experience specifically within cladding systems rather than curtain walling-only projects
- Proficient using AutoCAD 2D, Microsoft Office and PDF software
- Knowledge of cladding systems, insulation, membranes, fixings and fire barriers
- Understanding of U-values and condensation risk analysis for external wall systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Full UK working rights and ideally located within commuting distance of Liverpool
