A well-established specialist joinery contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, education and retail sectors. The company delivers high-quality joinery packages including fitted furniture, reception areas, feature walls, washrooms, doorsets, paneling and bespoke interior installations for a range of main contractors, developers and end clients.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple joinery projects from pre-construction through to final account. This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with experience within joinery, interiors, fit-out or specialist subcontracting environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
  • Preparing valuations, variations, cost reports and final accounts
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation
  • Procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Monitoring project budgets and commercial performance
  • Managing and negotiating variations and change orders
  • Supporting project delivery teams throughout the construction process
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal departments
  • Attending site meetings and commercial reviews
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercially managed effectively

Requirements

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within joinery, interiors, fit-out or specialist subcontracting
  • Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
  • Experience preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable

  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
  • Experience working on bespoke joinery or interior fit-out packages
  • Knowledge of procurement and subcontract management
