A well-established specialist joinery contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of bespoke joinery and interior fit-out projects across commercial, residential, hospitality, education and retail sectors. The company delivers high-quality joinery packages including fitted furniture, reception areas, feature walls, washrooms, doorsets, paneling and bespoke interior installations for a range of main contractors, developers and end clients.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple joinery projects from pre-construction through to final account. This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with experience within joinery, interiors, fit-out or specialist subcontracting environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
- Preparing valuations, variations, cost reports and final accounts
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documentation
- Procurement of subcontractors and materials
- Monitoring project budgets and commercial performance
- Managing and negotiating variations and change orders
- Supporting project delivery teams throughout the construction process
- Liaising with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal departments
- Attending site meetings and commercial reviews
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and financial reporting
- Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and commercially managed effectively
Requirements
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within joinery, interiors, fit-out or specialist subcontracting
- Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
- Experience preparing valuations, variations and final accounts
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Commercially aware with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and commercial reporting systems
- Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Experience working on bespoke joinery or interior fit-out packages
- Knowledge of procurement and subcontract management
