Our client is a long-established commercial flooring contractor operating across London, Greater London and the Home Counties. With a consistent pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee multiple flooring projects from tender handover through to final account.
This role requires strong forward planning, sound commercial judgement, and the ability to manage variations, additional costs, and multiple live schemes concurrently. Project values vary in size and complexity and cover the full delivery lifecycle of commercial flooring works.
The successful individual will work closely with senior commercial leadership and the wider management team to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to client expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Liaise with pre-contracts and clients to ensure smooth project handover
- Carry out pre-start site surveys
- Measure, check and take off drawings using industry-specific software
- Order materials and allocate labour, coordinating deliveries to programme
- Procure and manage labour
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, surveyors, project managers, and site teams
- Attend and contribute to site meetings
- Manage multiple installations across different sites
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety requirements
- Produce RAMS using relevant software
- Manage, document and process variations
- Handle ad-hoc client and site requests
- Maintain accurate records, correspondence and project documentation
- Compile and manage O&M documentation
- Ensure projects are delivered on time and within agreed budgets
About the Candidate
- Proven experience in a Contracts Manager role within commercial flooring
- Strong knowledge of commercial flooring products and installation methods
- Experience with subfloor preparation
- Confident liaising with clients and instructing labour
- Numerate and IT-literate with experience using Microsoft Office (industry software desirable)
- Strong organisational, communication and people-management skills
- Client-focused with a delivery-driven mindset
- CSCS card required (SSSTS preferred)
- Full UK driving licence
