About the Role
Due to sustained growth and a robust pipeline of public sector frameworks, the business is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team. You will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive tenders across a range of refurbishment and compliance-driven works—supporting both negotiated and competitive bid opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and client requirements to formulate competitive pricing strategies
- Collaborate with pre-construction, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure tenders are commercially viable and operationally deliverable
- Conduct site visits and attend client/tender meetings where required
- Identify risk, value engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations within each project
- Produce accurate BOQs and pricing schedules, ensuring clarity and completeness of submissions
- Support tender handovers and contribute to project start-ups post-award
About You
- Previous experience as an Estimator working for a main contractor ideally within the refurbishment, compliance, or fit-out sector
- Strong commercial acumen and working knowledge of JCT contracts and public sector procurement
- Able to interpret drawings, tender specifications, and compliance scopes confidently
- Skilled in preparing tenders ranging from £100k to £5m in value
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software packages
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset
