We are working with an established bespoke joinery and furniture manufacturer looking to appoint an experienced Purchaser / Project Support professional. The role combines purchasing, supplier management and project administration, supporting both the estimating and project management teams to ensure materials and specialist components are sourced on time and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Purchase project-specific materials, components and general stock
- Obtain competitive supplier quotations for materials and outsourced works
- Monitor project programmes to ensure materials are ordered in time for production
- Source suitable materials and components in line with specification and quality requirements
- Negotiate pricing, lead times and commercial terms with suppliers
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Identify alternative suppliers to improve cost, quality or availability
- Maintain supplier, material and pricing information
- Coordinate incoming deliveries and check quantities, quality and condition
- Allocate purchasing costs against the correct projects and work orders
- Monitor stock levels and support stocktakes
