The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate and competitive estimates for refurbishment and fit-out projects. Working closely with the pre-construction team, you will help ensure commercially sound decisions are made while supporting successful project delivery from tender stage through to award.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, and subcontract packages.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, schedules, and tender documentation.
- Carry out detailed measurement and quantity take-offs.
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions.
- Prepare tender returns and support the wider bid process.
- Maintain accurate cost databases and pricing records.
- Liaise with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients throughout the tender process.
- Support commercially astute decision-making across multiple live opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as an Estimator or Estimator / Quantity Surveyor.
- Proven experience pricing construction, refurbishment, or fit-out projects.
- Experience working on projects up to approximately £1.3m in value.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and procurement processes.
- Experience using estimating software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
