The Role:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons to secondary pupils (ages 11–16) in the absence of the class teacher
  • Supervise work in line with school policies
  • Maintain a positive and constructive learning environment
  • Respond to pupil questions about lesson content or procedures
  • Address any immediate issues or emergencies following school protocols
  • Collect completed work and return it to the appropriate teacher
  • Report pupil behaviour or incidents in line with agreed school referral procedures

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 3 months' recent experience in childcare, youth work, sports coaching, tutoring, class presentation, or similar
  • Confidence in communicating with pupils aged 11–16
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • A proactive, supportive, and professional attitude
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with both pupils and staff
