Humly is recruiting a Year 2 Class Teacher on behalf of a supportive primary school in Accrington, starting in January 2026 and continuing until July 2026. The school is seeking a confident and capable teacher with a strong understanding of early reading and early maths, to support pupils in building core learning foundations.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in early reading, phonics, and maths
- Supporting a class of 24 pupils, including several with EAL and SEN (1 pupil with ADHD/ASD)
- Working closely with the full-time TA in class to deliver tailored support and interventions
- Creating a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment
- Assessing progress and adapting teaching to meet pupil needs
What You\’ll Bring
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – the school will consider experienced ECTs
- Confidence teaching Key Stage 1, particularly early reading and maths
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills
- A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) and two suitable references
