Humly is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school on a maternity cover basis. This is a full-time role starting 13th April 2026 and continuing until 17th July 2026. This role would suit a dedicated and adaptable Teaching Assistant or SEN Learning Support Assistant who is confident supporting Key Stage 1 pupils and delivering targeted interventions, particularly in phonics. The position involves a mix of small group work and general classroom support, offering a varied and rewarding experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver targeted phonics catch-up sessions to support pupils preparing for assessments
  • Support the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment
  • Adapt support strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Learning Support Assistant in a primary setting
  • Confidence delivering phonics interventions (e.g. Read Write Inc. or similar programmes)
