Humly is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Carlisle, working on a 2:1 basis to support a pupil in Year 2. This is a full-time, longer-term role, starting ASAP and initially running until 13th Feb 2026, with the potential to be extended. The role would suit an educator who values consistency, enjoys building strong relationships, and is motivated by making a meaningful difference to a child’s school experience.
The role involves providing tailored support to help the pupil access learning, manage emotions and develop positive behaviours within the classroom and wider school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to implement agreed strategies that support both learning and wellbeing.
What You’ll Be Doing- Providing 2:1 support for a pupil with additional needs
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Helping the pupil access learning throughout the school day
- Working closely with the class teacher and SEN team
- Promoting a calm, consistent and supportive environment
- Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs
- A calm, patient and resilient approach
