Humly is recruiting a SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a SEN school on a long-term basis. This is a full-time role starting 04/05/2026 and continuing until 17/07/2026. This role would suit a patient, supportive and resilient individual who is confident working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 1/2 pupil with additional needs. The position requires someone who can build strong, consistent relationships and support engagement, learning, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support a Year 1/2 pupil on a 1:1 basis throughout the school day
  • Implement tailored strategies to support learning, behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Assist the class teacher in adapting activities to meet individual needs
  • Encourage positive engagement, independence and confidence in learning
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the wider school team
  • Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN setting
  • A calm, patient and consistent approach to behaviour support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships
  • Knowledge of primary education expectations within Year 1/2
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider support and teaching team
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Pay £15.46 per hour
