We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCo/Class Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in North Tyneside from September 2026. This is a full-time maternity cover position for the full academic year. The successful candidate will combine excellent classroom practice with strong knowledge of SEND provision, ensuring that all pupils receive the support and opportunities they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning within the classroom.
  • Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
  • Work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leaders to support pupils with additional needs.
  • Monitor and review SEND interventions and pupil progress.
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and documentation.
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where every child can succeed.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Have previous experience working as a SENCo or supporting SEND provision.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Be committed to raising achievement for all learners.
  • Have a strong understanding of current SEND legislation and best practice.
  • Be a positive and collaborative team player.
