The Role

As Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning within the classroom across primary ages. You'll help create a positive, inclusive learning environment where pupils feel supported, confident, and motivated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons and classroom activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning and provide additional support where needed.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including SEN, ensuring they can access learning and participate fully.
  • Promote positive behaviour and support pupils' social and emotional development.
  • Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work effectively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to support pupil progress.
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote the wellbeing of all pupils at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting (desirable).
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting children's learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for working with children.
  • Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
