About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in South Tyneside from September 2026. This is a full-time position running until July 2027, offering the opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational outcomes and wellbeing of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The successful candidate will work closely with school leaders, teachers, support staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school.
- Identify, assess, and monitor pupils with additional needs.
- Develop and review Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and SEND support plans.
- Provide guidance and support to teaching staff on inclusive classroom practice.
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Ensure statutory SEND requirements are met and maintained.
- Monitor pupil progress and implement targeted interventions where required.
- Support the school’s commitment to inclusion.
