Are you a caring and enthusiastic Level 3 qualified Nursery Nurse looking for a full-time role that truly values work–life balance? Do you enjoy supporting young children during their most important early years and helping them learn through play?
Humly is working closely with a warm, welcoming nursery in Jesmond that operates a 4-day working week, offering longer days so staff can enjoy an extra day off every week. The nursery is now seeking a dedicated Nursery Nurse to join their supportive team on a long-term basis.
The Role
As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing within a safe, nurturing early years environment. You’ll work closely with colleagues to create engaging, child-centred experiences that support each child’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Child Development: Support children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Care & Wellbeing: Provide high-quality care, ensuring children feel safe, happy, and supported
- Play-Based Learning: Plan and deliver engaging activities that promote learning through play
- Inclusion: Support children with additional needs and promote an inclusive environment
- Behaviour & Emotional Support: Encourage positive behaviour and support children’s social and emotional development
- Learning Environment: Maintain a safe, stimulating, and welcoming nursery setting
- Teamwork: Work collaboratively with nursery practitioners, room leaders, and management
- Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding procedures and promote the welfare of all children at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting (desirable)
- A positive, caring, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for early years education
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
